At your request, Michael explores the affections a little more deeply, particularly concerning the “ordering” of the affections. After establishing some foundational axioms for affective change, Michael explores some baby steps to processing and ordering the affections, particularly as modeled in the Psalms and Job.

This episode was difficult for me to listen to. Thanks for making it.
Do you happen to know of anyplace where psalms are indexed to emotions? I have been trying to take your advice, which you gave after a previous episode, to use the words of Psalms to help me express my emotions to God, but I find it difficult to locate appropriate psalms while in the depth of my need for expression.
You’re welcome. I’m glad you worked through it.
This is a great question. I don’t know of any place where that is done, but it would be a worthy project.
I also wanted to say that you mentioned that an individual will suffer if he or she doesn’t process an integrate emotions, and so you might as well do it now. I would like to add that the people you love will suffer if you don’t process your emotions. Thinking about that is powerfully motivating when one doesn’t want to open the cellar door.
Very true. All the more reason. Thank you.
