Obama just left one high-priced fundraiser on his way to another high-priced fundraiser with some more of the elitists who pay big bucks to get poor people to continue voting for Democrats. That’s just one reason why Obama tries so desperately, and fails so consistently, to connect to the poor people who vote for him.
The most recent high-dollar fundraiser was hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow, self-described as “Obama’s biggest fan.” Some of Obama’s comments at the fundraiser highlight the humongous gap that exists between his rhetoric and his actions:
He spoke of 55 months of uninterrupted job growth, investments in energy, the success of Obamacare — “and yet people remain anxious.”
“Most of the gains in our economy go to the folks who are in this lovely yard — and the average person has not seen their wages or incomes go up in the last 20 years.”
Right. So most of the people who vote for Obama have gained nothing while he’s been in office. He has gained from being in office though. Mingling with the stars, extended high-dollar vacations, and an unflagging growth of personal wealth indicate that Obama has only become more disconnected from his voter base over the course of his tenure as President.
And all the while, the poor and disenfranchised in this country continue to vote for Democrats—as their “champions.” It really doesn’t make sense. After six years, Democrats have not delivered on any of their promises. Government dependency has increased, but real wealth and prosperity has not. While the blue state elite hop around collecting money from guilt-tripped celebrities, the average worker bee has nothing much to look forward to but the next episode of Reality TV Du Jour.
And don’t get me wrong, the Republican party has become disconnected from the average American as well. The whole bi-partisan system is broken—hopelessly enslaved to the interests of a tiny oligarchy of celebrities and cronyists. When will it end?
