Chicago public schools are under fire after explicit slides from a proposed elementary sex-ed program surfaced during a parent meeting:
The presentation included slides that are clearly not age appropriate, and include “demonstrations” of applying male and female condoms (FC), DNAinfo reports.
While CPS spokesman Bill McCaffrey said in a statement that the “objectionable material presented at Andrew Jackson Language Academy this week is not and never was part of the student sexual education curriculum” as reported at the local NBC affiliate, the slides shown to parents are also posted at Waters Elementary School as part of the “Sexual Health Education” curriculum for “Grade 6.”
Waters elementary school apparently “opted out” of the condom demonstrations. Which means the condom demonstrations were part of the original curriculum. Just how bad were the slides? Let’s just say they had illustrations of using a female condom for anal sex. And this wasn’t heterosexual anal sex (though that wouldn’t be age-appropriate either). There is clearly a twig and berries in front of the colon that is being prepared for penetration, and there is a good amount of quite explicit language about how to have an even more pleasurable anal encounter. (Hint: it involves more “Lube! Lube! Lube!”)
Needless to say, this isn’t appropriate for elementary and middle school sex-ed. It’s actually not appropriate for any sex-ed. Why do we even have sex-ed, again? Are parents really so incompetent concerning sex that we have to give schools carte blanche to say and teach whatever they want? Because this sex-ed curriculum didn’t strike me as being informative really. It was designed to drive curiosity and experimentation. Has anyone read Brave New World? Whether or not you’ve read it, we’re living it right now. Children are not the property or responsibility of the State. Parents need to teach their children how to exercise self-control. Without self-control, this kind of tyranny of perversity is inevitable.
