Ben Carson loves nettling leftists. He’s particularly suited for it. He has all the qualities leftists want for members of their team—he’s black, philanthropic, well-educated, successful, well-spoken, and well-liked in his community. But he is decidedly not on the left’s side. In fact, he’s more in their side like a stubborn thorn.

In his most recent offense against the Great Left Machine, he blasted evolution as unbelievable and unscientific:

In a “Faith & Liberty” interview posted last week, potential GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson discussed his rejection of the theory of evolution, arguing that the science of evolution is a sign of humankind’s arrogance and belief “that they are so smart that if they can’t explain how God did something, then it didn’t happen, which of course means that they’re God. You don’t need a God if you consider yourself capable of explaining everything.”

Carson continued to explain how the complexities of the brain and eyeball and the nature of ethics reinforces his belief that a Creator God is a scientific, philosophical, and moral necessity. The real problem here is that the usual criticisms evolutionists would level against a Creationist cannot be employed here. You can’t say Ben Carson is uneducated or ignorant. He’s a flipping brain surgeon. One of the best actually—he was the first to successfully separate siamese twins conjoined at the back of the head. So…

If he has a problem with evolution’s scientific credentials, it might actually be worthwhile to look into it. What he says in the interview are just soundbytes. But they all represent a much more nuanced and well-researched story. The evidence against macro-evolution is actually overwhelming. And it’s not just religious bigots and uneducated hicks who think so. Keep preaching Ben Carson. I hope there are people out there listening.
