I’m so sick of these hypocrites. Michael Moore says he hates capitalism. He’s apparently for income equality. He opposes the two-facedness of American politics and religion. But Michael Moore has gotten rich off of his anti-capitalistic message. Like many leftists, he preaches one thing but can’t live it personally:
According to the Detroit News, anti-capitalism “everyman” filmmaker Michael Moore owns 9 homes. On top of a $2 million, 10,000 square foot lakefront mansion in Torch Lake, Michigan, there is a Manhattan condo that was once 3 condos, and 7 other properties. Moore’s secret role as a land baron was revealed in divorce papers.
This is just another in a long line of self-proclaimed social crusaders whose public pretensions of approachability are completely undermined by the private realities of their elitism and decadence.
Like when Harvard-educated Obama talks thug or when Hillary Clinton pretends she was poor. Right. Somehow, people buy this act. But it’s easy to determine who is for real and who is not. Take Stephen King, for instance. He wants taxes raised for the wealthy, which he knows would include himself. And he’s not alone:
Thankfully, King is not quite as lonely as he thinks he is. Other commendably self-flagellating fat-cats include Warren Buffett, who famously criticised America’s tax system for allowing him to pay less than his cleaner. Then there are billionaire financiers Michael Steinhardt and Morris Pearl, who were among the hundreds of “Patriotic Millionaires” to sign a recent letter calling for higher taxes “for the good of the country.” A similar thing happened in France: 16 of the country’s richest citizens (including L’Oréal heiress Liliane Bettencourt) offered to pay more to the French treasury. And while Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer fought against it, his boss Bill Gates once supported a call for a higher top-rate of income tax in Washington state. Even Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is, in his words, “cool with” higher taxes.
Right. But there is just one sticky detail here. If you want to pay higher taxes, you can! And for all their whining and belly-aching and preaching, not a single one of these bleeding heart quadjillionaires opts to pay more than he is forced to. And you know what that screams to me? Fake. Leftists are all about helping the poor and providing healthcare and all the rest, as long as they are talking about your money. Michael Moore doesn’t hate capitalism. He just hates your capitalism.
Because Michael Moore is different. Michael Moore is in a class of his own. He’s part of the elite. He’s a member of the untouchable aristocracy of philosopher kings that tell the rest of us the Phoenician tales we need to believe in order to be good citizens of his socialist utopia. Nope. Not buying it.
