Why Conservatism Will Never Succeed

Many years ago, R. L. Dabney penned some wise words about conservatism that I would like to repeat here:

[Conservatism] never conserves anything. Its history has been that it demurs to each aggression of the progressive party, and aims to save its credit by a respectable amount of growling, but always acquiesces at last in the innovation. What was the resisted novelty of yesterday is today one of the accepted principles of conservatism; it is now conservative only in affecting to resist the next innovation, which will tomorrow be forced upon its timidity and will be succeeded by some third revolution; to be denounced and then adopted in its turn. American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism as it moves forward towards perdition. It remains behind it, but never retards it, and always advances near its leader. This pretended salt hath utterly lost its savor: wherewith shall it be salted? Its impotency is not hard, indeed, to explain. It is worthless because it is the conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle. It intends to risk nothing serious for the sake of the truth, and has no idea of being guilty of the folly of martyrdom. It always, when about to enter a protest, very blandly informs the wild beast whose path it essays to stop, that its “bark is worse than its bite,” and that it only means to save its manners by enacting its decent role of resistance: The only practical purpose which it now subserves in American politics is to give enough exercise to Radicalism to keep it “in wind,” and to prevent its becoming pursy and lazy, from having nothing to whip. ((Robert L. Dabney. “Women’s Rights Women” in “Discussions,” vol. IV, “Secular,” The Writings of Robert L. Dabney, originally published in 1897; republished by Sprinkle Publications, Harrisonburg, Virginia, 1994. p. 496.))

His insight into the nature of conservatism is no less than uncanny. He wrote this in the 19th century, long before the current degradation of bi-partisanship. In his day, conservatism looked agressive and robust. But Dabney saw clearly that this “dissent” was a superficial show. Conservatism today doesn’t even bother with the show. It is a watchdog that doesn’t even bark, that openly eats treats from the hands of burglars. If it were worthy of being condemned and thrown out in the 1890s, I can only imagine how rotten and worthless it is now.

Consider this statement from Paul Ryan (in some people’s minds, a true conservative) in reference to the budget deal he foisted on taxpayers: “As a conservative, I deal with the situation as it exists. I deal with the way things are, not necessarily the way I want them to be.”

And that is exactly the problem with conservatism. It may have worked better to try to conserve the status quo in 1788. It certainly doesn’t work to do it now. Conserving, or capitulating to, the status quo now is aiding and abetting evil and wickedness with little admixture of justice and truth. The conservatism of expediency has always been rotten. To the core. This fact is just more obvious now than ever. Yet people still can’t see it. Come next election, Republicans will shove some other convenient big-government shill down our throats, and we’ll swallow our pride and toe the line. Again. And whine about it later. Again.

We must move on from conservatism. We must become visionaries and progressives. We must work to fundamentally transform the hearts of this nation’s people. We cannot be satisfied with conservatism anymore. There is nothing good left to conserve.

    • I think someone is trying to stir the pot. I don’t like the premise either, its really stupid, converting the USA into a progressive (communist) country.

  1. Mr. Minkoff, like so many bloggers, finds faults far easier than elaborating solutions. “(N)othing good left to conserve.” Excuse me? While bastardized and severely abused, the Constitution has yet to be repealed or replaced. Until it is, I will continue to FIGHT to preserve it!

    • Yes
That is why we need to stick to basics.
      Like the founders did.
Instead of praising ideologies of left and right etc. they stuck to the basic realities for which historically make for good governance and codified them.
You are correct Incredulous that we need to stick to the Constitution of the United States of America.
If we stick to it, even if we have to win just little battles at a time to bring us back to it, that will eventually get us victory.
The Republican Party has been on the right side of every issue since it’s inception and there is no greater power base from which to draw on to bring this nation back to the Constitution and a proper Republic.
Off course the true traitors to the Republican Party need to be shown the door.
We must be carful in doing that lest we turn into the very exclusionist dictatorial types that make up the left.
Just because someone advocates accepting a partial victory sometimes does not make them a traitor.

      • Yes, you’re both right. AND we have one thing going for us the Founding Fathers didn’t. We are using it now; instant communications. Following up on that, the battle will be won from the bottom (the people) up over the top (political opportunists) down. Demand they return to the Constitution. Contact your rep and 2 senators on every major point at issue.

One of my senators is the Lesbian of Madison, so I know she does not like to hear from me, because she never answers.

Keep their feet in the heat!

  2. What a bunch of BS. I’ve been saying it now for the past 10 years, the media is hell bent on convincing everyone the republican party HAS to move to the left. To what purpose would that serve? Oh, like this guy suggest, turn everyone into progressives? First, if the republican party moves left, it is no longer the republican party. If everyone becomes “progressives” (the nice word for communists), what does the country evolve into? What does the county become? If you know Obozo’s history, his biography, you’ll know the agenda is to turn the USA into a third rate communist country, a country that will be equal or less than all the other countries, a country that can no longer put itself on a pedestal as the greatest country ever or look down on other countries as being less than equal. Personally, I avoid RINOs and establishment republicans (progressives) because they don’t care if the Constitution is destroyed as long as they maintain some form of power.

    • Victor–let me get this straight–you are saying that Speaker Bonehead and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McCommie (who claim to be “conservative”) are what this country needs? They are the targets of Michael’s article. He’s not talking about Rand Paul or Sarah Palin.

      • What? I’m saying it is totally wrong for the republican party to move leftward. Think you need to re-read what I wrote. I don’t like RINOs and I do NOT like establishment, progressive republicans. The media and establishment republicans said Ronald Reagan could never get elected. The same people told us only McCain or Romney could get elected. With Romney it was worse because they wanted the GOP candidate Obozo could easily beat. Had Romney shot Candi Crowley down in the one debate, he might have beaten Obozo but it doesn’t mean the country still wouldn’t have headed in a progressive direction under Romney.

    • I know you wingnuts don’t believe is science but I assumed you believed in math. The GOP is a minority party & need to broaden their base. The ONLY way that is even remotely possible is moving to the left

  3. I don’t thing the problem is with conservatism but with how it’s defined:

“In politics, everything revolves around the positioning of right, left, and center. You’re either rightwing, leftwing, or a centrist. Politicians and non-politicians alike employ all three terms as if there’s a consensus on the parameters for those designations. Even if this were true, who gets to determine what’s right, left, and center, and how are those determinations made? Over time, the parameters shift (always further to the left), so how is someone on the right to know he’s now a centrist or a centrist to know he’s now on the left?…

“There are no answers to these questions because there is no standard for these terms. The terms are completely arbitrary, defined at any given time by finite man and his fickle ethics rather than by Yahweh1 and His immutable morals….

“Yahweh is the only lawgiver because as Creator He’s the only one with the authority to determine what is good and evil. His morals as codified in His commandments, statutes, and judgments determine what is right and left. Anything left of His right(eousness) is left, liberal, and ungodly….

“Unless your right is God’s right, your right is left. More to the point, unless your righteousness is God’s righteousness, your righteousness is wickedness. This is reminiscent of the days of the Judges, a time when most people rejected Yahweh as their king, and “every man did that which was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25)….”

For more, see blog article “Right, Left, and Center: Who Gets to Decide?” at http://www.constitutionmythbusters.org/right-left-and-center-who-gets-to-decide/.

Yes, we need to work toward transforming the hearts of our nation’s people and so doing we must also point them to true conservatism as can only be defined by Yahweh’s everlasting right(eousness).

    • Good points to consider. For as long as I can remember, I have been labeled a “conservative”. That isn’t a title I chose for myself. just the category I seemed to be put in because of my political beliefs. I began to challenge that title many years ago. I was born here in the United States, and when I went to school we were taught history as it had happened. Granted, there wasn’t anything taught about Ben Franklin and others being whore masters that they were. I’ve lived my life understanding if there was something wrong with our Constitution, we had remedies for the problems. Since I feel I am in agreement with the Constitution and obey the Constitution, I thought to myself, that must put me spot on with the Constitution. What a concept. Then I thought to myself, what if someone doesn’t agree with the Constitution? Would the condition of that disagreement be either to the left or to the right in some degree to what the Constitution provides? And if that were the case, would I not then be a centrist? YES, since I am in agreement with the Constitution, and I don’t disagree with the current provisions, I am in fact a “centrist”. I would have to guess that from that “centrist” point if you believe in communism, that and the things in between would be left of the Constitution. If you believe in fascism, that would put you to the right of the Constitution. And you have to remember that at the time the Constitution was written, Marxism and some other concepts weren’t around yet.. So call me conservative, libertarian, lefty, liberal whatever you like. Unless you call me someone that is in agreement with the Constitution, all your labels except “centrist” are incorrect.

      • Victor, thank you for responding. However, I think you’ve missed the point: The Constitution is NOT the standard but instead Yahweh’s everlasting righteousness and His immutable morality as codified in His perfect law and altogether righteous judgments (Psalm 19:7-9), which the Constitution is left of, in some fashion, in nearly every article and amendment.

See online book “Bible Law vs. the United States Constitution: The Christian Perspective” (http://www.bibleversusconstitution.org/BlvcOnline/blvc-index.html), in which I devote a chapter to examining every article and amendment by the Bible. All 565 pages are online. Take our Constitution Survey in the right-hand sidebar and you’ll receive a complimentary copy of the 85-page “Primer” of “BL vs. USC.”

  4. Conservatism will never work BECAUSE of Satan’s determination to overcome GOD and control the universe; and the growing number won over by Satan and his followers lies and deception, through greedy corruption and self love. Casting the interest and well being of everybody else to the four winds. For success, as the WORD OF GOD teaches comes through only two commandments which mankind refuses to follow.

    Matthew 22:37-40
    37. JESUS said, Thou shalt love the LORD THY GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy mind.
    38. This is the first and great commandment.
    39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, as thyself.
    (Read carefully verse 40)
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

    • Myrtle–the reason this “conservatism” won’t work is that they have lost sight of God and the Constitution. There is still hope for reformation with a “Ronnie Raygun” in the Crackhouse (it used to be the Whitehouse).

      • A long time ago I took a vow to protect and uphold the Constitution. I see Obozo, his minions, progressive republicans and RINOs trying to rip up the Constitution and throw it in the garbage. I’m willing to die and to kill people to prevent that from happening. If there is something wrong with the Constitution, the founders gave us methods to fix it. Because of my beliefs, Obozo, his minions and others say I am a terrorist, an anarchist, racist, bigot, good for nothing TEA Bagger, etc., etc., etc. Well to all those that oppose our Constitution, there are other countries out there that more closely reflect your political beliefs. I suggest you make arrangements to move to one of them post haste. Say maybe Cuba or North Korea are two that immediately come to mind. Pretty sure a lot of people that still love America the way it has been will help you pay the way. Personally I’d put you all in big bombers, take you out over the middle of the Atlantic Ocean at 40,000 feet and open the hatches, because that’s what you deserve.

        • Yes, I will even volunteer in helping them pack! I came to the USA from this type of oppressive socialist country. These …people…..that respond on here, obviously have NO IDEA what it is really like to live in a society that is subservient to the government. That’s why they constantly flap their gums. If they actually lived in one of those countries, their opinion would be far different.

      • Reagan was FAR to reasonable for teabaggers to support & would be considered a “RINO” by you wingnuts if he ran today!

        Reagan tripled the national debt
        Reagan raised taxes 11 times
Reagan expanded the size of government
Reagan supported the “socialist” Earned Income Tax Credit
Reagan negotiated with terrorists in Tehran
Reagan sought to eliminate nuclear weapons
Reagan gave amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants
        Reagan approved protectionist trade barriers
Reagan signed abortion rights law in California
Reagan eventually debunked AIDS myths Republicans continued to perpetuate
Reagan Supported huge government spending projects

Imagine a Republican candidate trying to win the GOP nomination with these outrageous beliefs today. The man would be howled out of town!

      • Modern conservatism is a kind of intellectual poison that corrodes modern economies by degrading politics, society, and culture & it will NEVER work!

  5. Several things that can be said in reguards to this post, that Mr. Minkoff is certainly not a conservative and he defies the third law of thermodynamics and blows only hot air. Being progressive is just another state of pragmatism, “if” it works GREAT! However, if it does not let’s move on and forget about the damage left behind, after all, Obamacare will take care of it, “It’s Free” ugh, ok my bad, it will be affordable, ugh, ok my bad, it will be so everyone can keep their policy, ugh, ok my bad, all right so much for being trustingly progressive. It is true that you can’t get something from nothing and maintain nothing for something. The failure of our quick headed Liberals is to visualize that truth of any human matter is dependent on substance and law. The only counter to that would be GOD who is liberal in Mercy and Grace and long suffering towards us all, Liberal or Conservative. He is not bound by substance, only His Righteousness and Holiness and when personified through faith revealed out side of nature to mankind. In this microcosm nothing can be taken out, used, propagated, or manipulated unless first put in and like every time piece, it will wind down.

  6. The reasons Conservatism Will Never Succeed are simple. Their economic policy has been discredited, Their foreign policy has been discredited & their social agenda is straight out of the dark Ages. Evangelical KOOKS identified their movement with the culture war and political conservatism & that proved to be a VERY costly mistake for the GOP as they have become the anti-science, anti-intellectual party. conservatives have ZERO credibility claiming to be for “smaller government”! What conservative EVER shrunk it’s size? They talk about wanting government “off our backs” yet want the government to enact more laws restricting birth control, sex education, abortion, same-sex marriage, and drug use, among other things. Then there’s the demographic death spiral conservatives are in as they cannot attract black, Hispanic, Asian or young voters & have a double digit gender gap with woman. And the nail in the coffin is the electoral college map. The Dems have a 270 vote LOCK! Even if the GOP carried EVERY so called “toss up” state (OH, VA, NC & FL) AND held EVERY red state that Mittens carried they would STILL lose!

    • And you, sir, are as KOOKy as your icon. At least you no longer indicate your IQ with the number of fingers you raise.

      • This just about sums it up
COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in
        America .
ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It’s 7.8%.
COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?
        ABBOTT: No, that’s 14.7%
        COSTELLO: You just said 7.8%.
        ABBOTT: 7.8% Unemployed.
COSTELLO: Right 7.8% out of work.
        ABBOTT: No, that’s 14.7%.
COSTELLO: Okay, so it’s 14.7% unemployed.
        ABBOTT: No, that’s 7.8%.
COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 7.8% or 14.7%?
ABBOTT: 7.8% are unemployed. 14.7% are out of work.
COSTELLO: If you are out of work you are unemployed.
ABBOTT: No, Congress said you can’t count the “Out of
Work” as the unemployed, it makes President Obama’s employment numbers
look bad! You have to look for work to be unemployed.
COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!
ABBOTT: No, you miss the point.
        COSTELLO: What point?
ABBOTT: Someone who doesn’t look for work can’t be counted
with those who look for work. It wouldn’t be fair.
        COSTELLO: To whom?
        ABBOTT: The unemployed.
COSTELLO: But ALL of them are out of work.
ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work.
Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer
in the ranks of the unemployed.
COSTELLO: So if you’re off the unemployment rolls that would
        count as less unemployment?
ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!
COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don’t
        look for work?
ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That’s how they get it to
7.8%. Otherwise it would be 14.7%. President Obama doesn’t want you to read
about 14.7% unemployment. It makes him look bad, incompetent, and makes him
look like he doesn’t have a clue what he is doing as President
COSTELLO: That would be tough on the Democrats running for
        re-election.
        ABBOTT: Absolutely!
COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there
are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?
        ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.
COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?
        ABBOTT: Correct.
COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop
        looking for a job?
        ABBOTT: Bingo.
COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down,
and the easier of the two is to have people stop looking for work.
ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like a Democratic Economist.
COSTELLO: I don’t even know what the hell I just said!
ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like a Congressman.

        • The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is the agency that gives the unemployment rate & has been for over 100 years. The fact that you people reject ANY facts that don’t fit into your delusions just goes to show how out of touch with reality you are

  7. I have to believe you guys are misunderstanding this post.

For instance, I once heard or read Billy Graham say, paraphrased, we are constantly in flux, either growing toward or away from God. Would not success be growing toward God? Its certainly not growing away from Him, and we know stagnation is the worst of all 3.

We have to have a mind for what causes real growth Spiritually, but what about the rest of our views? Are they locked in stone for all time? According to most conservatives, they vote based on their interpretation of religious ideas (beliefs).

This article is meant to jirate “conservatives” into action, to inspire self-examination, to either adopt some of the playbook of what is working for the team who is winning (progressives), or at least realize that the current conservative playbook will never work as well as the progressive. Alas, how do you compete? Put the message out there and trust God to change everyone’s mind?

What conservatives think is fair, and God thinks is fair, are very likely completely different on many issues. Conservatives would do well to realize they hardly understand the mind of God any better than the progressive raised in our Christian nation, that neither group has a lock on the truth, and an idea is worth its merits, regardless who says it.

Conservatives must also realize is a huge portion of their motivation for supporting Republicans, and being against progressives, is likely akin to fan support for a sports team. Why choose one team over another? Its largely preferential and geographic based. Is your team’s dirtiest player really a better human than my teams dirtiest player?

Conservatives must also realize to get respect, you give respect. So much conservative momentum is being wasted on day-to-day hateful speech toward progressives (President Obama for example) that when serious issues come about, Peter has cried wolf so much, critical arguments seem like piling on to the masses.

I could go on and on and on.. yet likely the truth is as lost here as on the masses. I’ll hush, lest my arguments be called drivel. Any word but drivel.

    • Nope, doesn’t fly unless you apply the exact thing to the opposition (progressives). Current thinking is the progressive movement has lost its way and is on the way out the door. If you think the TEA Party movement is over with, you are sorely mistaken. I will actually predict the republican party will be replaced by the TEA Party within a few years and the GOP will fade away the way the Whig party did when the republican party came into existence. When the TEA Party becomes an official political party, nothing will be left of the GOP except RINOs and progressive establishment republicans. The political pendulum has swung as far left as possible and Americans are seeing what liars control the progressives and they don’t like what they’re seeing. Now the pendulum is headed back as it does from time to time. The problem with communism is it has never worked, the math never comes out right.

      • The GOP is already dead on the national level so it really wouldn’t surprise me if what’s left from the rubble is a regional party of the south & the call themselves the tea party. The problem is the tea party devours its own, so the circle is constantly shrinking

    • Your comment, while largely incomprehensible, seems to indicate that in your worldview political success = righteousness. However, politics has lately been revealed as a fool’s diversion, meant only to distract while the power-brokers divest the people of everything they value.
If you are actually interested in examining another approach to the problems that plague our nation, I would suggest you go back to the beginning and read our founding documents with an eye to their literal meaning, and not liberal “spin”. Those who heretofore, have considered themselves “conservative” must indeed find a way to impart to thinking people that, while there is an almost religious zeal to the pursuit of just government as envisioned by the Founders, it is still at its heart, a desire for the triumph of human rights for each and every person. And, yes, we also believe that God wants it that way in the end.

  8. I prefer to call myself a Natural Rights Reformer or an Original Intent Constitutionalist. The Politburo in the USSR were “Conservatives.”

  9. Odd, every so often there is what looks like what might be a comment, strange black blob avatar, letter “m” and jibberish. Can’t make out the message. Anyone else having that problem in the page? Disqus indicates 99 messages, I’m only seeing 95. Used to be a Mr. Bob made bizarre inaccurate, incorrect statements, but I see he is gone???? What a relief.

  10. Anyone can call themselves conservative, like the LIAR Rubio, McCain or Grahman I made the mistake of believing the LIAR once the only out is not vote for him again. Because of this I no longer know the difference between a liberal or conservative a democrat or republican I do know what a politician is and that is a person who is willing to sell his soul to raise campaign money. Too many of our leaders has done nothing in their lives but be politicians giving speeches never having to work, they have won the lottery getting elected with their high wages, retirement and benefits they are set for life.
Conservatives dead very possibly the bigger problem is America is dead unless we stop the nonsense of granting amnesties and importing foreign workers at a rate of over a million per year with that doubling if reform is passed when we have over 20 million unemployed, 50 million on food stamps, countless millions more seeing their hours and wages shrinking and the lowest labor participation rate since Jimmy Peanut.

  11. So true. I doubt if anyone would have insulted the Founding Fathers with the title of “conservative” even tho they were trying to conserve the liberty of the colonists against the encroachments of the crown. Truly , there has been nothing left to conserve of America for some time, and what little there is, is under constant attack from both sides of the aisle. Americans who love our country that was founded on God-given rights and liberty, must indeed become aggressive in fighting FOR these things, instead of reacting to those who mean to obliterate any memory of them.

  12. I have been saying this for quite some time. The Republican Party has to unite and stop fighting against each other. As much as I hate to say it, Senator Schumer hit the nail right on the head when he said that the Republican Party isn’t organized like the Democrats. How right he is. In 2008 and 2012 when Republican candidates were competing for the nomination, their debates seemed to be nothing but big mud fights. To me that is a big turn off and I know I am not the only one who thinks that way. I think that the Republican candidates should have stopped throwing mud at each other in the debates and focused more on putting a Republican in the White House. The Democrats do their fair share of mud slinging at each other during primaries but nowhere near what Republicans do. When a Democrat wins the nomination, the rest of the party put their differences aside and they all give support to the nominee. I don’t think that has happened in the Republican Party since Reagan. If you remember, a few million Republican crybabies stayed home on election day because their candidate didn’t get the nomination or they voted for a useless write-in or independent. I think the Republicans need to go back to the conservative principals that has served them so well in the past. They should also follow the Democrat example and give full support to who ever wins the nomination instead of acting like a bunch of spoiled crybabies. In my opinion, the Democrats beat out Republicans by government dependency, ignorance, spitefulness, misguided party loyalty and apathy. All they had to do was sit back and watch the Republicans cut their own throats.

  13. So are we supposed to change & believe in abortion on demand, gays & transgender weddings, gay agenda taught in our schools, gun bans, & weaker military? I’ll never go there

  14. It would if there were any true Conservative people in and running for offices in DC. Conservatism would work great but they give into the LIAR Oh pardon me I meant Liberals(Same thing these days LIARS and LIBERALS and have been for more than 50 years).

  15. Actually, we DON’T need ‘Conservatives”– we NEED REACTIONARIES! We need to be PROUD of the term. We, quite frankly, need to TURN BACK THE CLOCK ON ‘PROGRESSIVISM” = Communism = Socialism to at least pre 1896 if not pre 1796 (Whiskey Rebellion, and tell George Washington to NOT send the FEDERALES into a PENNSYLVANIA DISPUTE)!

  16. Looking to the 19th century for truth denies the importance of modern history. Conservatism will win because it is the only values system that can survive.

Google “Two Minute Conservative,” http://adrianvance.blogspot.com When you speak ladies will swoon and liberal gentlemen will weep.

  17. Conservatism requires self reliance and personal responsibility. Since the majority of Americans are now on some form or other of “entitlement” conservatism is dead. With the help of political welfare pimps, It’s far easier to steal from others than to earn it yourself.

  18. Seems like “progressives” are truly afraid that their dream of control is slipping out of their hands. Barack Obama was THE #1 worst thing to happen to these “progressives”, although, many thought that he was their Messiah at the time of his election. Through Obama, the country was able to see just how far from its values it had been indoctrinated, and now sees that their American values are being held up as “fringe” values by those that have taken control of all 3 branches of government and the media. The more they fight the American People, the more they show their true colors, and the division they are trying to continue among the American people is falling apart. Although they have labeled us bad “Conservatives”, and are trying everything they can to make us go away, what we are seeing on display is nothing more than Americans fighting to preserve this country for future generations. Defending the God given rights of human beings is not “fringe”. Whether they like it or not, people see that Obama is far from being the “Messiah”, and now are seeing him him and his brethren for what they are – true enemies of free people everywhere.

  19. Conservatism requires citizens to be self-reliant, self-producing, self-responsible and in this liberal world, that will never happen. Liberals entire existence is based on making its citizens government dependent and since many people are basically lazy, this ideology works well for them.

  20. The brand of conservatism dominating Washington at this time was at one time called “appeasement”. The TRUE conservative that formed this country first and foremost placed his reliance on God.
The United States Of America is the only country in the history of the world in which the law of the land-The Constitution-is based on the natural law of God and Christian principles.
The Constitution is now and has been under attack by the progressive atheists of both parties-so much so that the centralized government of this country has much of the populace of this country ready to accept unconstitutional law after unconstitutional law in the guise of “recognized authority”. This centralized socialistic government now has the gall to demand that we place our reliance on them and that we toss God out of our schools, our workplaces, our public places, and it is even trying to toss God out of our homes-trying in some cases to say a parent doesn’t have the right to teach a child religious values.
    THIS GOVERNMENT MUST BE DEFIED.
    THIS GOVERNMENT MUST BE REPLACED.
We will get our country back-what is left of it- only when we once again rely totally on God.
While we wait for this totalitarian government to come knocking on our doors let us celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior-Jesus Christ.
